Mobile Phones in the classroom

Our week 3 task was to write on the Wiki, what we thought about using mobile phones in the classroom, It is such an interesting topic and debate as there are many positives and negatives to this debate.
In saying this I believe that it is a positive as it allows students to use skills that they are already utilising. It is very difficult to believe that students are expected to use a pen and paper in class & every assignment they are required to complete must be done on a computer.
It also a valuable tool to help engage the student in their work to ask Google if they have any difficulties or questions rather than not complete the task as they are unsure on what to do next or because they don't know the answer to their problem.
The list could keep going on and on and on with the benefits to this great debate!

Ok, so now I'm getting the hang of these gadgets!

I am so excited, I found the issues I was having with Wordle, I needed to download Java. I have since done that & put in the story about Google's new social network Google+1 as I felt it was a relevant issue. You can view the results here!

Week -2 Still getting the hang of it!

There is so much technology out there. I have been trying to put all of my input on to the wiki. I'll see how I go. If I can't figure it out I'll just post it on my blog.

Immigrant or Native?

I used to think I was a native as I love the computer I have a smart phone and am also fairly familiar with blogger.
Well this was until I started E-learning. Once we went to the computer lab to set up a blog and Wiki, I was like, Oh no "what have I done"!!! How do I do what everyone else is doing and what tasks have been set for us to do each week? I feel like an invalid so I am obviously in the immigrant sector as it is taking me so long to do this task.
Perhaps it's from having a break or what they call baby brain after having 2 babies? But after trial and error and Wiki asking me to make a page as I had set up an account we have got there. I am now on the road running YAY!!!!!
Now that I have started it'll be hard to get me to be quiet, you'll be reading about me blogging about everything!

I am a real people person, so would love to have a chat with anyone that may want to comment about my post!!! I'd love to hear what you think!

Hi, My name is Aimée, I am a mid year student that has returned after 4 years. Although this course seems overwhelming at the moment, I am looking forward to using all the tools and content mentioned in today's lecture and the lectures to come.
